Thoughts on ORU
March 28th, 2009

I returned last night from Oral Roberts University where I held a “Spring Revival.”

It has been 32 years since I stood in Christ Chapel and preached there as the Associate Chaplain at 23 years old! I remember that at the end Oral Roberts and the entire student body removed their shoes in the presence of the Lord. Well, this week was hardly any different.

Thursday morning, I spoke to that 3000+ member student body on the “father wound” of rejection. At least 500 youth came forward to be healed of abusive, absentee, or anonymous fathers. The biggest need of this generation is AFFIRMATION. That night, I showed the “Passion” clip of Jesus dying on the cross and challenged the student body to “alignment for their assigment.” Jonathan and the “Deluge” band joined me in those first two sessions and did a fabulous job. The final session on Friday, I taught all ten of the “Remnant” principles and we gave out a “Remnant Covenant” sheet to everyone to sign. Thousands of books were distributed. The Chaplains office told me that the prayer tower was swamped after church Thursday as kids were seeking the Lord. At least 100 got SAVED on thursday night after the cross video.

THIS GENERATION is really on my heart. They are fatherless and confused in many ways yet powerful and thrilling to minister to. With Joel and Jonathan in Seattle ministering right now, we are “full bore” as a church reaching this generation. I can now see myself “fathering” on them, telling them simple issues of purity, integrity, prayer and fasting, and relationships. I LOVE IT.

I have six children 30 and under and all of them are involved in the work of the Lord. I am the most blessed man in the world. Join me in prayer for ORU and the tens of millions of American youth who are CRYING OUT for “fathers.”

Remant and Liverpool
March 13th, 2009

We had an incredible Remnant conference last week! Over 500 pastors and leaders came to be brought into the presence of God. Our llives were changed. We have coordinated with leaders in 40 states to personally deliver the Remnant book to every pastor in their state. We must move quickly to turn this nation around and it has to start with the pastors.

We also had an awesome time teaching the Remnant principles at Frontline church in Liverpool, England. Pastors and leaders from Europe came to this powerful church pastored by Nick Harding (a former medical doctor) and Dave Connally. We brought 500 Remmant books and they all disappeared!

I have been teaching on “fresh oil” from Ps 92 and Isaiah 11: 2. God wants to fill you with the seven “lamps” of the Spirit:
1. Spirit of the Lord–intimacy with Jesus
2. Spirit of wisdom–order in your life
3. Spirit of understanding– clarity in the will of God
4. Spirit of counsel–ability to make decisions
5. Spirit of might–energy and strength
6. Spirit of knowledge–skill in areas you don’t understand
7. Spirit of the fear of the Lord–integrity in all areas.

Let’s ask God to full us with all “seven”—and bring the nation back to God!
