A Steady Heart Is The Amazing Secret To Personal Triumph
In today’s world, reports are alarming. Dangerous circumstances are described in a way to make us feel unsteady. We can’t see a clear path to WIN.
I have discovered that my steady HEART (my “inner man”) is the secret to winning (“triumphing”) over my circumstances. I got that from this verse:
“His heart is STEADY; he will not be afraid until he looks in TRIUMPH on his adversaries” (Ps. 112:8).
The secret to personal “triumph” is an established, unwavering, “steady” heart.
These four things give you a steady heart:
Your heart feels steady in God’s love.
A secure, stable, unwavering heart has to be convinced that God loves them unconditionally.
When you KNOW God is totally in love with you, you know that His love conquers everything.
“My God in his steadfast love will meet me; God will let me look in TRIUMPH on my enemies” (Ps. 59:10)
Your heart feels steady in God’s presence.
My heart feels secure in dangerous situations when I know that someone with more power than me is around and watching out for me.
When a policeman is circling around your street, your heart settles down and goes to sleep.
“The Lord is on my side as my helper; I shall look in TRIUMPH on those who hate me” (Ps. 118: 7).
Your heart feels steady as you sing to the Lord.
As a child, I learned the great hymns. I now know many “Scripture songs” that our generation has put psalms to music.
From the moment I wake up, a song fills my heart. A “singing heart” is a “secure heart.” Notice how Moses and Miriam triumphed over Pharaoh and his vast army at the Red Sea:
“I will sing to the Lord for He has TRIUMPHED gloriously, the horse and the rider has he thrown into the sea…” (Ex. 15:21).
Your heart is steady as you think on Christ’s triumph.
Do you feel like you are losing a battle? Let your mind go back to the moment Christ triumphed over sin, Satan, and death!
He rose triumphant and ascended into heaven. He sat down at God’s right hand…totally triumphant.
Let your mind meditate on all of those powerful events that now affect EVERY ONE of your current circumstances. Paul said it like this: “But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in TRIUMPHAL procession…” (2 Cor. 2: 14).
The triumphant Roman general would bring back to Rome the defeated General and army of a foreign enemy. The conquering Roman general and his victorious soldiers would give a victory shout as they rode in front of the parade. Behind them was the vanquished enemy walking in chains.
What a picture for us! Christ is victorious, and therefore WE ARE VICTORIOUS. We ride behind him as “co-victors,” not by our works but by His victory.
“Clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of TRIUMPH!” (Ps. 47: 1, NKJV)
You are on the winning team, my friend. Let your heart be secure that we are always triumphant!
