Every bull can be ridden. Are you ready to win that battle in 2023?
“Bushwacker” is the name of one of the fiercest and most dangerous bulls of all time.
One top rider was thrown by Bushwacker and landed broken in the hospital. His next time on Bushwacker, he defeated him…for the first time in history!
His secret? “The first time I rode him, he owned me. This time, I owned him before I went out there. He was afraid of me, not me afraid of him.”
Everyone has a “Bushwacker” (problem, situation, difficulty) to ride.
What “bull” in your life has been begging to be defeated and how do you do it?
Shrink your opponent in your mind.
Your mind will tell you that your “bull” is bigger than it really is. David could obviously see that Goliath was 10 feet tall.. In his heart of faith, however, he believed he was bigger INSIDE than Goliath.
You’ve made this problem too big. Shrink it. Start laughing at it. Start speaking to it.
Forget your last failure.
Of course, you lost the last time you tried to ride it.
That failure is not your identity. Get back on it again.
It may be that position you have applied for…that test you have failed to pass….that relationship that didn’t work out.
What are you going to CHANGE that you believe will give you the upper hand of victory? Figure that out, then get on it again
Boost your confidence with Scripture.
When I am facing a mighty bull, I find verses that fit my case. I write them down and begin studying them, speaking them so my ears can hear them, and hearing them until they get into my heart.
Your mind alone cannot conquer that bull.
Need strength? “I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil. 4:13). Start with that one.
Fighting fear? “God has not given me a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1: 7). Tell fear of failure to leave your mind.
4. Set a date in 2023 where you will ride the bull again!
Schedule the test. Set up the date. Send another email asking for forgiveness. Apply to the school.
Ride that bull again EVERY MONTH next year if you need to.
He will be defeated. Charles Spurgeon said, “By perseverance, the snail entered the ark.”
5. Give God the glory and give men your testimony.
The bull-riding world was astonished when “Bushwacker” lost the 8-second war with a rider.
They will ask you, “How did you do it?” You will say:
“I shrank it in my mind.”
“I forgot my last failure.”
“I put Scripture into my heart.”
“I set up a rematch.”
Then, when you win, give God all the glory.
There are many bulls to ride in your future. They may not be as strong as “Bushwacker,” but all can be ridden..
Let’s make 2023 the year to conquer that bull!
