No words are more powerful than these, “Jesus is Lord.”
The early church founded all of Christianity on these three words.
Every Roman citizen had to publicly confess, “Caesar is Lord.”
Christians knew better.
There is only one Lord, Jesus Christ.
It caused countless thousands of believers to lose their lives because they refused to declare Caesar a god.
Words matter.
These three words matter more than any other words you will ever say.
Here is how these three words transform every single area of your life:
Until you say those words and Mean Them from your heart, you cannot be saved.
“Because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Rom. 10:9)
Those three words are where your salvation occurs.
You MUST believe that Christ rose from the dead. You also must say “with your lips” that “Jesus is Lord.”
How simple can it get?
2. We declare His Lordship over every area of our lives
Someone said, “If He is not Lord OF ALL, then He is not Lord AT ALL.”
I like to declare, “Jesus is Lord” over my family every day. I rebuke division, strife, or any attack of Satan in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I declare Him as Lord over my body every day. From head to toe, I declare the enemy must leave my body and my health. My body belongs to Him.
I verbally declare Christ as Lord over my finances every day. My finances belong to Him, and He directs where I spend them.
For your business, your thought life, your relationships, and any other area Satan is attacking declare “Jesus is Lord over _______.”
3. The name of Jesus is Lord over heaven, earth, and hell.
“Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” Phil. 2: 9-11).
We know what heaven and earth are. What is “under the earth?”
Hell. Demons. The lake of fire.
Jesus defeated every demonic spirit during the three days he was dead physically. He took the keys of hell and death.
Every demonic power and principality you may be facing has been defeated by the “Lord Jesus Christ.”
Use that Name and declare His Lordship against them!
Now, their knee must bow to him. Every person who has ever lived will bow their knee and declare that “Jesus is Lord.” Every angel will bow to His Lordship.
What power can they have over you if He has given us the right to use His name in spiritual combat?
No wonder Satan hates that Name.
In a crazy, mixed-up culture, one Name rises above all others:
“JESUS IS LORD.”
