Finding destiny in all your disappointments
If you are alive on this earth, you will face disappointments.
You can remain negative and bitter about them. Or, you can discover your destiny through them.
You THOUGHT your life was over when you missed that great job. God has something better.
You just KNEW you would marry someone, and they married someone else. God was watching out for you.
Here are some thoughts to help you find your destiny when you go through a disappointment:
What others mean for evil, God means for good.
Joseph was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers. Years later, he told them: “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good” (Gen. 50:20).
They were the tool to get him to Egypt! He became the vice-regent of the nation and saved his entire family for a terrible seven-year famine.
Destiny came out of disappointment.
2. Disappointment produces proven character.
A season of disappointment is producing endurance and character in you.
“We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and ENDURANCE produces CHARACTER, and character produces hope…” (Rom. 5: 3-4).
If you are going through disappointment, keep on going! Don’t stop. Don’t quit. Don’t despair.
Endure. Walk by faith. Stand strong. Keep praising God. The Holy Spirit is forming the character of Christ inside your spirit person.
3. Disappointment is missing the wrong thing.
The German word for “disappointment” means to “miss an appointment with the wrong thing!”
In other words, you THINK it is perfect for you. God knows that it is not.
He has a plan.
You can see how God is working “behind the scenes” in so many Bible illustrations:
Esther was promoted to queen to protect the Jewish nation from genocide.
David brought food to his brothers and ended up killing Goliath.
Moses’ basket floated right into the bathing waters of Pharaoh’s daughter and became her adopted son.
Relax. Let God work behind the scenes.
“For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure” (Phil. 2:13).
3. God is causing all things to work in your behalf.
How often did Moses circle the Sinai desert as he followed Jethro’s sheep for 40 years?
He must have remembered his place at Pharaoh’s palace. Now, he is freezing to death at night, living in misery.
Suddenly, “destiny.”
A voice speaks from a burning bush. God’s plan to return Moses to Egypt is ready to launch.
Disappointment cannot stop destiny.
Say “Yes” to God’s destiny for your life.
Don’t worry about where you are right now.
Be patient, satisfied, and contented. Stay with what you are doing now.
One day, you will look up and see a burning bush!
“God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Rom. 8: 28).
It’s going to work out in your favor.
“Destiny over disappointment.”
