Here is how to bring great pleasure to God

What does God really love? What pleases Him?

We know that “without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb. 11: 6).

Of course, that’s true.

The question is, what is it about our faith that pleases Him?

I think I found it and can’t wait to share it with you!

Here are three things that we absolutely know bring great pleasure to God:

1. Our GIFTS please God.

By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain…” (Heb. 11: 4).

We may think that what we give and how we give it doesn’t really matter.

The offering of Abel was a blood sacrifice.  It had to do with his sin and his gratitude for the forgiveness he received.  It was also his firstfruits (tithe).

Cain’s sacrifice was about his works.  It was just some of his harvest, the fruit of the ground.  It felt stingy and cheap.

Abel offered “by faith.”  Is our giving a statement of our faith in God to be our Provider?  Is it a statement of our faith in Him as our Forgiver and Redeemer?  Is it our best, highest, and foremost?

That pleases God.

2.  Our PRAYERS please God.

By faith Enoch…before he was taken up was commended that he pleased God” (Heb. 11: 5)

Enoch “walked with God.”  That phrase means “walked up and down with /God.”

The man talked with God, conversed with God, walked alongside God and fellowshipped with God.

That pleases God.

Prayer is “by faith.”  You believe that God exists and you talk to Him as an invisible Person.

One day, God and Enoch got so close that God must have said, “Hey, come home with Me.  It’s closer to my house than yours!”

LONG to be with God every day.  Show at HIs throne each day and worship Him.  IT PLEASES HIM.

3.  Our ACTIONS please God.

By faith Noah…constructed an ark” (Heb. 11: 7)

It’s not just what we say to God that pleases Him.

It’s how we obey Him.

Noah obeyed God and built a boat with no apparent body of water to launch it into.

When you and I STEP OUT and do what the Lord tells us to do (regardless of how ridiculous it feels), we please Him.

Abraham did the same thing.  He obeyed God and STEPPED OUT of his home and went into a land he did not know.

Whatever God is asking you to do, do it.

Your obedience is faith.  It means that you believe in Him and want to obey and please HIm more than anything.

Ask God how you are doing in these three areas.

Start GIVING your best of your time, your talents, and your treasure to God.  Give “off the top,” not the bottom.

Start PRAYING like you and God are best friends.  Abraham was called the “friend of God.”

Start OBEYING without a moment’s hesitation, before your mind can take over and talk you out of it.

If you do these three things, I promise you one thing:

YOU WILL BRING GREAT PLEASURE TO GOD!
