Loaded to the brim:  How to live in the fullness of God’s riches

I am convinced that when I come to you, I will come packed full and loaded with the blessings of the Anointed One!” (Rom. 15:29, Passion)

Paul wrote this verse to the Romans about his proposed visit to them.  The words “packed full and loaded” refers to a cargo ship, loaded with people and commodities.

It gives a picture of Paul coming to Rome like a huge commercial ship pulling into the port in Rome.  He would be brimming over with spiritual blessings and revelation!

I believe God wants your life, your “vessel,” to be LOADED TO THE BRIM with all of His riches in Christ.

Here are some of the riches on board your ship:

1. The riches of salvation.

I thank God for being saved and forgiven.  I have come to learn, however, that salvation is more than forgiveness.  It is the new birth.  It is a new life.  It is a new creation.

You are not the same person.  You have a new identity.  “Old things have passed away.  All things have become new.”

2.  The riches of provision.

Many of us live beneath our spiritual provisions.

I read a story once of a man who crossed the Atlantic Ocean on a passenger liner.  He barely had the money for a ticket and knew he could not afford to eat on board.  He brought a week’s supply of cheese and crackers.

A day before arrival, the captain knocked on his door inquiring why he never came to the dining hall.  “I could not afford it,” he replied.  “Oh,” the captain said, “all your meals were included in the price of the ticket!’

God has already provided all you need in Christ.

3. The riches of the Holy Spirit.

Besides the gift of salvation, God’s greatest gift is the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

He brings all His love, joy, peace and righteousness.  He brings His direction and encouragement.  He brings His wisdom and revelation.

He brings His ability to pray and the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12).

He brings the body of Christ, our spiritual family.  Oh, what a precious cargo the Holy Spirit is on the Gospel ship!

4. The riches of mercy and grace.

But God, being rich in mercy…made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Eph. 2: 4-6).

Finally, God’s great load of richest blessings includes our ability to stand before Him covered in grace and mercy.

So many Christians don’t carry this blessing in their heart.  They think they are unworthy, inferior, unqualified, and unfit.  They focus on their failures and faults.

Mercy and grace have “seated us with Him in the heavenly places.”  You are His son, His daughter, His child, His heir, His priest, His sheep.

These are just a FEW of the rich cargo on your spiritual vessel.

Don't sail on empty—bring the full cargo of Christ to a world waiting on shore!
