This will be your greatest year of Bible study.
Since 1990, I have read the whole Bible every year.
I love working out, eating healthy, managing my time and finances, and reading new books.
Nothing compares with daily Bible reading.
The One Year Bible plan has given me a 15-minute daily habit of reading the Bible.
I have written a devotional book titled “365” that combines the four daily readings into a single central thought.
This year, this weekly blog will parallel those readings.
Here are some tips on our Bible reading journey together in 2026:
1. Get set up.
Any habit is achieved when you remove the obstacles.
If it’s 25 minutes to the gym, you won’t last!
My personal setup for Bible reading is on my Bible app. Each day, I open it, and my readings are there waiting for me.
Get the Bethany Church app or go to “bethany.life” and click on the “Read 15 One Year Bible.” You are ready to go!
Another part of the setup is finding a quiet place where you read every day. Morning is best, but be consistent.
2. Read, then study.
I like to read through my readings, then follow up to study if I have enough time.
At the very least, read the “365” devotional every day.
Thousands of people have done this, and it has really helped them. You will soon find this on Kindle online.
“Study” means to find at least one verse in your four readings that means the most to you. Meditate on it, pray about it, and share it with others that day.
3. Do the plan together with others.
Our small groups at church are all reading through the One Year Bible. They text each other about it and then discuss what blessed them most at their weekly small group.
Some guys at work may join you in the plan. Perhaps a neighbor or another family member.
Accountability establishes habits faster than any other strategy!
4. Makes notes all year.
I have a Bible software that I can add a note to any verse. I have over 13,000 of those notes in my software from all the years of reading.
At least, use the “Notes” app on your phone to open a folder and take notes by week. It’s a journal of all your insights and revelations from that day or week. It pays off to write down what God speaks to you in your readings.
5. Last, but not least, subscribe to my blog this year!
I am fully committing my eleventh year of this blog to guiding you through your journey.
Every Monday at 6:00 a.m. CST, my blog will appear in your inbox and give you insights from your readings that week.
That’s it!
Ready?
Let’s make 2026 “your greatest year of Bible study!”
