Unlock 7 powerful blessings waiting on the path of life

Proverbs often speaks about “the path.”

It is the “path of wisdom.”  It comes from the “fear of the Lord.”  

It describes a path where you choose to have integrity, purity, and live according to the Word of God.  It also describes all of the benefits that you find along that path.

Proverbs 3 is a concise, easy to understand chapter that describes seven important blessings when you walk that path:

1. Long life (Prov. 3: 2, 16)

“....for the length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.”  “Long life is in her right hand.”

We will never understand all the mysteries of life.  Stephen was martyred.  It does not take away, however, the numerous promises of “length of days.”  

2. Favor and good success (v. 4)

“So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.” 

We also know that everyone in the world is not going to like you.

However, when you stay in the “path of life,” God’s hand of favor rests upon you. In your job, in your family, in your city, people will see you as a person of success.

3. Healing to your flesh (v. 8)

“It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.”

Sickness and disease come from its parent: “sin.” Yet we know Jesus “went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil.” (Acts 10:38)

You can claim this blessing as well.  You must maintain your body as a steward and then trust the Lord for His power to give you health, energy, and vigor.

4. Financial abundance (v. 10)

“Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce;  then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.”

I have seen that people who tithe their “first fruits” show honor to God.  He, in turn, honors them financially.  He promises to “open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that you cannot contain” (Mal. 3:10)

5. Divine Protection (v. 23, 24)

 “Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble. If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” 

We can’t be foolish and tempt the Lord.  However, He does promise us protection and perfect, peaceful sleep!

6. Unshakable Confidence (v. 25, 26)

“....for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.”

Fearful, hesitant, timid living never works.  Bold, fearless, decisive direction does.  Don’t fear making mistakes, step out of your comfort zone and let God give you confidence.

7. A Blessed Home (v. 33)

“The LORD’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous.”

The final blessing is “a blessing.”  Your home, your property, your vehicles, investments, and all your “blessings” will be “blessed.”
